Fijnaart

Fijnaart is a peaceful village in which to live, with a flourishing club and association life. Fijnaart arose in 1548 in the middle of the polder on Lady Jacobs land, also called the Old Fijnaart polder. Fijnaart has 5,268 inhabitants. Dike houses and ribbon development is part of Fijnaart. The village suffered badly during the disastrous flood of 1953. Norway and Sweden provided help in the form of timber houses.
