The smart choice in the Rotterdam area

Security of the Port

As of 2004, seaport-related companies where vessels of more than 500 gross registered tons arrive, should comply with the International Ship and Port Facility Security Code (ISPS code). The waiting areas for seagoing vessels in the Hollandsch Diep are also ISPS-certified.

The integrated safety and security of the Moerdijk seaport and industrial complex is implemented within this framework.

In 2004 the port and industrial complex was recognised with the Mark of Quality for Safe Entrepreneurship (KVO-B) Certificate. The quality mark covers aspects such as the organisation of the industrial complex, security in relation to the security chain and the organisation of collaboration between the authorities, police, fire department and the companies. Moerdijk is the first seaport in the Netherlands to receive KVO-B recognition.
